Former GREAT WHITE Tour Manager Wants Sentence Reduced

The Associated Press reports that a tour manager who ignited a blaze that killed 100 people wants his sentence reduced.

Daniel Biechele pleaded guilty to 100 counts of involuntary manslaughter in February and was sentenced to four years in prison. His lawyer filed a motion today asking a judge to reduce that sentence.

Biechele was working as the tour manager for the band GREAT WHITE when he lit a pyrotechnics display on February 20, 2003, inside a cramped West Warwick nightclub.

An inferno quickly engulfed the club and killed 100 people who were trapped inside. Twice that many were injured.

The criminal trial of club co-owner Michael Derderian is scheduled to start on September 5.
